How old are your vehicles?
Our aim is to keep all our caravans as new as possible, We endeavour to update them once they are around 36 months old, on the odd occasion there maybe a slightly older one but only if it is in exceptional condition.

Do you hire throughout the whole year?
We do offer our caravan hire service all year, in the winter we like to put special packages together for Halloween/Bonfire/Xmas, New Year etc at sites that have organised events.

Do I have to take out any Insurances?
All our caravans have comprehensive cover for UK and Continental travel, however this does not cover your personal belongings and we suggest you check with your home contents insurance that you are sufficiently covered whilst touring. Our insurance policies do have an excess in the event of a claim this is covered by damage deposit (please see below).

What is the damage deposit and why do we have to pay this?
The damage deposit which can also be called a security deposit is the sum you deposit with us above the hire charge; this sum acts as insurance excess during your hire.

This sum is fully refundable provided the caravan is returned clean, undamaged and on time. Should a claim be made the cost of the damage will be deducted from the deposit before it is refunded to you.

Can I travel to Europe and is there any extra charge?
We provide full comprehensive insurance on all our caravans on travelling to Europe. We do however need to see documentation showing a green card and European Breakdown Cover with a ‘get me home’ service for the caravan. There will be an extra cost of £60.00 per week to offset the covering of this extra insurance risk.

Do I need breakdown insurance for the caravan and tow car?
With effect from the 14 January 2005 we cannot offer any form of advice, information or assistance on any insurance product, it is now the responsibility of the caravan hirer to arrange full comprehensive breakdown and recovery services to cover the tow car and caravan, including relay and emergency repatriation of the vehicles cover, if you are wishing to travel outside the Uk please note we shall require full written confirmation of this policy before the collection of the caravan and this cannot be omitted in any circumstances.

Do I have to collect and return my hire vehicle on any particular day of the week?
Our usual hire period is from Saturday a.m. to Friday p.m., however we try to be flexible and pending on the time of the year and the availability of vans we will try to accommodate your needs.

Sunday and Bank Holiday collections or returns may be possible depending on the circumstances and the availability of the caravans.

When can I pick the caravan up and what happens if I am late on my return?
Our hire times usually start from the Saturday morning (time to be mutually agreed) if the van is ready earlier it may be possible to arrange an earlier pick up time, subject to agreeing an approximate time with us in advance, should you wish this to be the situation please contact us a few days in advance to check if it is possible. Should the caravan be returned late it could lead to a loss of deposit and a possible two week hire as this delays the next customer collecting the caravan (please see terms and conditions).

Can you deliver the caravan to us?
Whilst most of our clients prefer to pick the van up from us and do the hand over we can on request arrange a drop off for a negotiated price within a 10 mile radius of our base, please contact Coast Touring Caravan Hire for details please also be aware we will need an hour hand over to explain various factors about the caravan.

If you would like a delivery and/or collection please contact us and we will be more than happy to advise you of any cost involved.

Can I vary the length of time we hire the caravan or does it have to be a full week?
We try to be as accommodating as possible with any requests, it all depends on caravan availability, there is however a minimum hire charge at various times of the year so please contact us if you have any particular requirements and we will try our best to fulfil your requirements.

Why would I need to hire a generator?
All our caravans are fully self contained in that all appliances such as oven. Hot water, heating will operate from the camping gas supply, whilst the onboard 12v battery supplies power to operate the lighting, water pumps ect.

However, all our vehicles have at least one 3-pin 240v electric socket which are used to power your own 240v appliances, such as mobile phone chargers, radio, cd, portable dvd, hairdryer etc. These sockets can only be used if the caravan is connected to a 240v mains electricity supply such as on a site (this is known as a ‘mains hook up’, or connected to a generator providing 240v.

If you are planning on using a site with no mains hook up you will require a generator to source you 240v items.

A generator or mains hook up is also useful for a caravan as it keeps your 12v battery constantly charged.

Is there a TV/Video/DVD Player in the Caravan?
We have not placed these items in the caravans as we realise that most people have their own portable items and these will work in the caravan when connected to a 240v Mains Supply or Generator.

How do I know where to book to stay for our touring holiday?
On our web site are some very good web addresses which will take you into site booking and you can have a virtual look at some of the sites, these webs are very useful and give full information about their facilities and prices throughout the year.

In your local Tourist Office you can get help and brochures about different sites to visit.

In every one of our caravans is a current Camping and Caravanning Guide with all the relevant information for booking direct with the sites.

As caravanning becomes an ever more popular form of holidaying the sought after sites get booked up very quickly we would advise you to look at your personal choice of site and place a provisional booking during peak times and bank holidays.

Can I take our pet on holiday with us?
We have no objections for family pets in our caravans, but we do ask owners to be responsible for their pets at all times and that they are provided with their own beds/blankets, some times the floor space in the vans can be quite limiting and it may be worth considering the using of an awning or porch awning for a little more movement for your pets. We do charge a one of fee of £15 for the extra valetting required (please see our terms and conditions)

It may well be worth your while to check the site you are planning on going to are pet friendly and do have the appropriate dog walks available for your dog to be exercised freely.
